Day One
Some one is ready to hit the road.
Are We ever going to Get out of here???
Left on a beautiful Wed at 9:27, LJ blew out water lines just in case the furnace quit working.
We dined at one of the best places in the world.
It was a beautiful day and Miss Lake Michigan was our host.
After a gourmet dinner of cheese (Wisconsin) :) and crackers, we went to Mighty Mac who also is one of the most awesome bridges.
For thirty eight years we have been driving back and forth on I75 we never have stopped at Hartwick Pines. Well this trip is all about the journey and not just the destination. So LJ said we are going to see if it is still open. A lot of parks in Northern Mich close in Nov.
And how perfect, it was about 3:30 when we arrived.
We did learn not to trust the gps for directions. But we did see some very interesting back roads and trails.
We are in 9000 acres of one of the largest state parks in lower Michigan and almost all alone.
Its the three of us and the camp host in a 100 site campground. It is so quiet you could hear a leaf fall from the tree. If there were any on the trees.
We were here only about 10 min and a big red fox walked down the road in front of campground. Of course no camera ready.
This is almost boon docking. For only 16 dollar we have all the electric we want. :)
This morning we are going to walk the trail of Old growth Forest. Where there are supposed to be some amazing Pines.
It is very chilly and the electric heater is cranking. And it feels darn good.
Rosie is pretty loaded down but she still coughed up 15.5 miles a gallon which LJ is pretty happy about. So off on a new adventure today.
Have a great day and do remember.................................
God is good...............all the time
