My girlfriend is in trouble

My girlfriend sent me this and said it should go in my house.
I so agree........hubby not quite as excited.....
but I have my plans...  :)
What a wonderful get away spot to read knit and pray.
Look out the window to a brand new day...
Yip this has to be a thought....
This is my 500th post....  wow where oh where does the time go????

But through the years the one thing I know is

God is the blessed controller of all things (even after the election)
and
God is good all the time

All the time God is good.

Pray for our president....
for our country...

Sunday a day of rest........

I love Sundays............. thankful for them....

Today I have been pondering making a list of Gluten Free Foods that we can use for the grocery store list....

We spent 30 min trying to fig out if a Butterball Turkey was gluten free in our Target the other day.  We think it was not and bought a Jennie O.....  the gravy was not but the bird was.    How frustrating......

Not sure how to do this there should be one on the internet........

But why can I not find it..............sigh

So if any one reads this and is GF please feel free to share your favorite foods.

My best treat so far is:
Betty Crocker Gluten free Devil's food cake.
Make them into cupcakes and put them frosted or not in a big tupperware container and stick them in the freezer.  Take one out on a day you need a choc fix....  Like today :)

They are still moist and Yummy....

I made Quinoa (Red) turkey soup last night.  It was ok....but not amazing.  We rate everything on a scale and gave this a 6 or 7.  Next time maybe will try diff spices.  I put in sage and parsley garlic cloves.  Not a lot of salt.. This will be our soup of the week.
As oops I made a bunch....
So far nothing is better than the squash soup or the potato soup.  I used all purpose GF flour to make the rivels.  Not like grandma's but it was probably an 8 on our scale maybe even a 9....

Not sure anyone will ever read this but at least I will know where my notes are....  :)

That happens when you are in your 60's.

God is good all the time
All the time God is good...

PS I think I am going to miss Alabama....  :(

Re: Can You Survive?

Can you survive?
Some things we are doing and have done....
We have made our own  laundry soap off and on for years:
Grew gardens....to many to count
Dried and canned food  we  mostly dry things now days.
I have
          Knitted winter hats, sweaters
                   Crochet blankets and shawls,
 Wove wool rugs

Crafted,  this is called one of two things:
Survival or WINTER
The winters are long up here....there is a lot of time to read and learn  to do a lot of things.  To get those creative juices flowing and to be creative.
I think a lot of the people in the city need to stop and think.... And learn to prepare for the worst...
Hurricane Sandy can and will teach a lot of people to wake up and get ready for when the next natural disaster happens.  They can and will, they always have and they will happen again.  If they happen in multitudes there may not be as much ready help available.  Boy scout motto:  BE PREPARED
I am not Mormon but I think they have it right they have a years supply stored up.  Not to hoard it but enough that they can help others .
Know what to do to be ready........  learn what to do
 how to store.....educate yourself.
We  always prepare for winter up here.  We have been  snowed in for  up to five days when we lived on the farm.  Maybe that is why they sometimes  call Yoopers survivors.
Do not procrastinate
Do a little bit every day....
My
Mission today is to:
Dry and roast pumpkin seeds
Dry Cilantro
Make homemade Ranch dressing with Coconut milk
Also to make smoothie with sorghum  did this and it was great......

Wisdom is a fine thing....  I pray the Lord will give me a portion of wisdom and help me to do His will....
God is good all the time......
All the time God is good..

Re The day after and OOPS day with Gluten...

Gluten Free:
Being Gluten free for three and a half months now has sometimes been a challenge...
mmmmm
maybe more than a challenge

I have prayed Lord help me much more than once or twice.
Finding out every day new and helpful things.
Did you know there is Gluten in some tea bages.

My friend Sandy told me it is usually the ones that are glued not stapled together.    Sigh..... TEA BAGS???????
The most interesting thing about when you state the journey is that you feel better almost instantly..... And the longer you are on it ....(for a lot of people)  the more sensitive you become. Crazy but it seems to be true.
Also found out you really should see a dietician..
It can be hard to have a balanced diet, and get all your vitiamins and minerals.  They fortify white flour.

 But not gluten free flours.
I just found Teff......  Never even heard of it before.  More to be reported on this new purchase when I find out now what I can do with it....  :)
Interesting and learning so much on this new walk.

  But over all feel great.

For me it is an easy walk most of the time because I feel so much better..

actually like a new person....like a teenagers...well wait maybe not.

Better than I felt even in my teen years......not that is stretching the memory wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy  back.....
Found sparkling water and now think it is my new addiction.

Trying to go to normal water and drink it but it seems it just sits in the glass...

.did read somewhere the carbonation can help calm down an oops.

Belive me I have had oops....with a big OOOPS...
Have a great day and wonderful weekend.
And always always remember:

God is good all the time......
All the time God is good..
