As Blogger Go on a road less traveled

Truly one of the roads less traveled....................

As bloggers go mmmmm  I rank right up there as probably as one of the worst.  Also as spelling goes and heck even correct grammar its not that great.. Thank you Lord for spell checkers...  One thing this has always been is a blog from the heart.
mmmmm   For years my blog goes good for a week or two but than off for a month or two.  Or maybe a year or more...  :)  Not even going to say this will change.  But one day at a time...

As this old blog is ageing and I am amazed people are reading some very old posts.  It dawns on me that these  blogs may last a very very long time.

So as I start  on this new journey of my life the Lord has laid on my heart to write on  approaching my winter years...... (big 70 this year)  It definitely is a different stage of life things are changing.  Many days as this winter approaches I see the snow flying... and that is literal.

What a wonderful life its been......  and then it dawned on me how difficult and impossible life it would have been without the Lord.  He is teaching me to not live for tomorrow. To stay into today.  It could be the last one here on this earth.

I love what Billy Graham's grandson  quoted from his grandfather.
"This is what my grandfather has said concerning his own death, he said, 'One day you will hear that Billy Graham has died.' He said, 'Don't believe it. On that day I will be more alive than I ever will be.' And that's the truth and that's why he preaches, because this life is only the setup for the life to come."

So if you care to........ follow me on the journey on taking one day at a time.   Rejoicing with each breathe we take......

May God Bless your day......

catch up time....

Be thankful and say so

When words are many,

 sin is not absent,

but he

who holds his tongue is wise.

In everything give thanks

There is Power in being thankful

Anne V. says being thankful makes one 25%

happier.  Praise God...

Be thankful in every situation.....

Be thankful and say so...

Numbers chapter 11 verse one:

People crumbled.....

trials  make us grow up and mature..

someday you

will realize what you thought was your greatest

enemy was your best friend.

Do not spend your life at the complaint counter...

No matter what you dont have.......

Being thankful effects every area of my life.

Our angels go to work....

Be  thankful for everything..

The angels are affected  by the words of our mouth

We are so blessed.

 I pray..

Lord give me a grateful heart.

Because

God is good all the time

All the time God is good..........

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So thankful

for winter... for a time of rest

For our great grands, grands and children

Sunshine.... it makes me happy

For water that has not frozen up....

My girlfriend is in trouble

My girlfriend sent me this and said it should go in my house.
I so agree........hubby not quite as excited.....
but I have my plans...  :)
What a wonderful get away spot to read knit and pray.
Look out the window to a brand new day...
Yip this has to be a thought....
This is my 500th post....  wow where oh where does the time go????

But through the years the one thing I know is

God is the blessed controller of all things (even after the election)
and
God is good all the time

All the time God is good.

Pray for our president....
for our country...

OK only in the UP could the road painter paint right over a dead racoon ....This was laying in the middle of the line this summer and some cars moved it down the line on the road. But you can still see the yellow paint going over the top... too funny ...but not for the animal...rip...

Another Winter on the horizon........

It has been a very long time since I posted anything on either of my blogs.

Going to try and bring them somewhat up to date.  A good winter project.

This has been an awesome year but a bitter sweet year.
Two new Great grandbabies...on the awesome part.....   Total now 19 grands and greats.
Baker boys brother passing the very bittersweet.  He had a long battle of cancer coming up so we are thankful he was spared without a painful passing.  But boy oh boy do we miss him.  He was my computer guru....the brain of brains when it came to electronics.  He flew up from Naples to help me set up my first computer way way back in the DOS days..he tried to teach me DOS in about 24 hours.
I just looked at him and smiled....  :)  He called me sil.....  for Sister in law for years and years.  His wonderful wife passed just 9 months before him.  We sure do miss ya Ron......may you RIP.
Baker Boy , Nyla, and BIL (Ron)... at Jekyll Island

Woke up yesterday to snow on the ground.  Yippeeeeeeee  What a beautiful site.  It just makes everything brighter and happy this time of year.  Darkness comes so early when we are used to playing outside till 10 in the summer ( till the misquotes drive you crazy and say it is time to go in the house and wind down...)

Thanksgiving week is here and boy oh boy we have so very much to be thankful for.

I thank God for sending His only Son that grace peace and love may abound.  That we may have the promise if we believe, to spend eternity with Him and those passed on before us.

May God give you a blessed week and a month to reflect on all the many blessings... and things we have to be thankful for.

God is good .............all the time

Oct 27 After a Long Break

In the next few weeks I will try to update my blog from spring and summer.
It has been a while.  So much has happened this year.

Our dear brother and bil Brother in law passed away and we miss him so much… he blessed a lot of people.  He used to come every year around this time in the fall.  He than quickly remembered the Northern weather and was always sad to leave but glad to get back to Naples.  We spent some great time with him last winter.  Had a great trip and fun times.  Lots of Laughs.  (Love ya Ron and am so grateful that you were part of our life and look forward to meeting up with you someday.

                                                          LJ, Nyla, and Brother Ron.....

This was one beautiful summer and fall.  Lots of great pictures but not so many trips in Rosie…NOT Going to go south   LJ wants to push around some snow.  I am hoping he will tire of it very quick… smile..
We are having a very windy storm they are saying it is one of the biggest storms wind wise since the Edmondson Fitzgerald went down.  Remember that day well it was right after we moved North.
Always rember

Birthday Weekend..

Friday, August 21, 2009

we left at 10 and it was raining. surprise surprise........
We met the martins at the corner in chatham.
arrived in Newberry
we did not have wifi from our site and martins did not have cable like it said.
Carol was not to happy.
Although it rained all day and I didnt take many pictures we had a blast.

We drove up to whitehouse point then to whitefish point Marina you could walk out on this real cool pier and we looked at all the fishing boats.
I only saw one I would ever go on....YIKES    the rest looked pretty scary to me...

We looked up and off to the west and wooooooooooooooo there was a big rain storm coming
we ran as fast as we could to try and beat the rain... the rain won
on into Paradise and to the blueberry festive.
To bad the weather was so nasty.
everyone there was real friendly and  having a real good time.
Going on down the road we saw a big sign that said free dinner on the day of your birthday.
today is my birthday so we stopped.. it was ran by native Americans and was a fish restaurant.
I could get anything I wanted off the menu.
It was the best perch dinner I think I ever  have had...... I didn't think I could even eat it all.
And much to everyone disappointment ..
.                                                                             .I did... yum yum...
They  surprised me buy bringing  out a birthday cake and sang.
It was great. We were all to full to eat cake so we brought it with us. .

We got back to the camp everyone came over to Rosie to have cake.
 It was good
so in spite of the rain
a good time was had by all

. One of the best birthdays I have ever had.

Outside my window...

I am thinking...
About Dave a dear friend who lost his wife our friend Christine unexpectedly in surgery this last week. She had just turned 50 so young. She was healthy and it was such a shock.
Truly our days are numbered and we never know how long we will walk on this earth. May she rest in peace.
And the Lord give Dave comfort and strength. May he be held up by the prayers of God's people.
I am thankful for... the Chinook winds that bring the promise of spring.
It is a different smell in the air.
