It was just really snowing pretty good outside....  and very windy today...

It was a cold but beautiful day. Our first picnic of the year by Lake Superior .  What a beauty she is.    

Only in the Up have I ever seen such a beautiful sky the bluest of blue.  We are so thankful and loving our new Roadrunner.

But I thank you God for all the sunshine we have received while it has been so cold.  Bright sunny crisp days....  VERY Crisp.....


They say after today the cold is coming back...

 But we know God is the Blessed Controller of all things..............

still snowing

Will it ever quit snowing this year
snow came late
but it keeps snowing... prob the most on the ground that we have seen at one time in years and years.....but spring it close....
Praise God for spring....

Doing away with depression: Morning time.....be it 5 min or 5 hours

Winter depression has always struck me:
Be it a lack of sunshine, or being cooped up in the house. ....I do not know why.
it has always been such  a struggle for me.
counting the days to spring is good..........but living in the now is much better.
focusing on today and living it to the fullest.

But I love Joyce Meyer:

she speaks to me all the time she speaks to my heart


 She comes on our tv at 7:30 every morning   I find when I take  morning time for prayer to listen to teaching...for God time that my life is totally different. My days are so much better..

  It is so neat to be awake when the earth seems to come alive. When you hear the first bird sing in the spring....or the crack of dawn when the first light appears.


  When I fall away from my God time fear begins to enters in. depression....and it seems there becomes a distance between my Lord and me....

                                                     and believe me it is not Him that moved.


Forgive me Father......

Joyce s message today speaks right to my soul..... it is

When you are down,  do spiritual warfare..

Remember always that:

1 God lives in me
2 He sees me
3. He loves me all the time
4 He understands me.....
5.  He hears me...

We don't always get a good beginning but boy oh boy we can have a good finish...
Hallelujah...

Get up everyday and do our best.................. Lord Help me....

Jesus throws a come as you are party.  Religion gives us rules...religion says you have to .... Jesus says you want to.....

All the time God is good........

An inexpensive Humidifier......Crock Pot

This is my crock Pot

What is it doing????  

It is very cold here................BELOW ZERO.....brrrrrrrrrrrrr

Do I have a humidifier for my house?  mmmmmmm nope

Do I have the money to go and by one? mmmmmmmmmmmm nope

Do I have a crock pot? MMMMMMMMMMM  YES

Does it work for my humidifier?      YES

Did I save a lot of money?   Yes

But I do have to  fill it once a day...  it has to be very inexpensive to run...

It puts some of the much needed moist air in the house when it is so dry.

But it is not as dry with gas heat as it was when we had the wood cookstove.

But than again that one was easy....  just kept a pot of water on top of the stove

all the time.....

Boy do I miss the wood heat.  We took our wood stove out of the kitchen a few years ago....  sure do miss it.....

Nothing in the world heats the body like wood.  

So thankful

for heat

for crock pots

for water....

God is good all the time......................all the time God is good....

TUBBIE our new HOT TUB

Well we did it.............

 we sold our Rosie Roadtrek.....

 (we were then planning on going down to Alabama and rent for the winter.)  


I sure do love Alabama..... :)

But a change was about to happen.....
 a month ago my hubby said he would like to maybe mmmmmmmmmm
stay home and shovel some snow......

Is he crazy????
       I think that may be the case..
after a two night soak in our sons hot tub he decided to pacify me...

.if we were going to stay home all winter what are we going to do???
      we decided to go look at hot tubs... 
We drove into the big city and found the spa place and low and behold guess what???

It was love at first site


Standing there in all her glory..was a beauty .(well we now named her TUBBIE) she does not sound much like a beauty with that name. 


 How about Beautiful Tubbie???

They just happened to have a big sale going on  ... In this sale it included a thrown in chemical package, lifter for top, and the top cover ..
We did not resist and took Rosie money and got a Nordic Hot Tub...the round one.  The Round DEEP one... GREEN one


Just happened to have extra insulation which we needed up here in this great North sub zero winters.   The beautiful GREEN DEEP TUBBIE also had jets and a whirlpool .. YIPPEEEEE
And it is green my favorite color. 

Wow now we are not rich in money in any way but using Rosie money to get this was probably one of the best things we have ever done.  
We have some pretty wicked winters up here  our son who said his bill came in at 40 to 50 dollars more a month in winter we thought giving up  a trip or two  to town and giving up  eating out a few meals would cover this easy in our pretty tight  budget.

.Last Sat we ran into our Doctor in Menards.   he said it was wonderful we got one and should really help LJ , he thought it should be mandatory for everyone to have to have one.  So we were pretty excited.

Now as you know we are retired and older.....

baby boomer plus one boomer before the boom.

My before boomer guy has a few issues with his health. 
 A couple heart attacks.
  Arthur visit...and poor circulation in his legs..  this doctor said he feels this will help him immensely.  He said it was like gathering pennys.  Each time you go in you get another penny and they add up after awhile.  (Pennys meaning health.)

I will be putting a picture of TUBBIE on very soon.......

Keeping TUBBIE'S water balanced for someone who is not and I say NOT a chemist has been the biggest challenge.

Still boats coming into the harbor

It seems I have this thing about taking picture of boats in the harbor
but it is almost Jan...and these men are very brave. We have had some very bad storms.
I am sure they are very glad to see the harbor and get their land legs back.

To me this is what Life is all about. Baker boy bought me this nativity shortly after we were married. Way many years ago...... :)
Believing this scene is LIFE CHANGING...
How thankful we are the Christ came to really make this life great.......GRACE...
its not what we do But what HE DID...... Thanks be to God......
Baker Boy is out keeping up with the snow..only a few inches yesterday. This is what we call a Finnish snow scoop and it is great. I wonder how long he walks keeping it all clean. Someday maybe I will volunteer but.....................he really does need the exercise... :)



Yesterday the sun was out and to prove it........it was 9 degrees when I got up a real crisp morning. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......

Isn't Doppler radar wonderful..... this is a go buy milk day....

The weather forecast for tomorrow is looking like a stay in da house day.....

Snow showers. Snow accumulation of 4 to 10 inches possible...greatest east of Munising. Highs around 24. West winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 100 percent. ..................................It's the 100% thing that makes one read it twice.

Living in the UP is wonderful but if you live on a back road and the wind blows at all with a forecast like this one and you see why today is a go get Milk day.. when we lived on the farm in the 70's we would sometimes be snowed in for days. Maybe 5 was the longest................then along comes the feeling we call cabin fever. I remember many days going outside and listening for the snow plow. On the farm it sometimes took the snow blower to get us out. And if the big county blower broke down you were at the mercy of the mechanics.. :) But when our kids were little we broke out the popcorn popper made fudge and read Narnia....what a great time... (seems so long ago) Now living on the highway we do not get snowed in that much. A state highway is a top priority for the snowplows. So in this season of our life........it is a good place to be.
