Baker boy starts 6 weeks of Physical therapy on Thursday .. Three times a week will be great Marquette time............... :)

Baker Boys Dilema........

Well a fall the 17th down the bleaches at the ball game
+
a fall on the 18th off the iced step

= 1 chip out of elbow
a small crack in elbow
and a possible shoulder fracture.

Doctors office called at 7 last night and wanted a cat scan today.... a ortho doctor on Monday..

But on the very bright side..............the sun is out.............and storm is over

Feb 19 wELL wAs i WrOnG

hA HA Winter gone.......NOT

Blizzard started yesterday
Baker Boy must have thought....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
wonder if we could make it to Marquette in a blizzard
so he must have been thinking;...
............Oh I think I will fall and maybe hurt my arm and see if we can get to Marquette...........

And that is what happened.....bad baker boy.....
..he slipped off the Honey's step and landed on his elbow........
So off to town we went.........
We have a store called ShopKo it is about 30 miles away ......so is the the walk in clinic ....
we went to get his prescription after the doc told him his elbow is chipped a small crack, and he may have tore his rotater cuff or something like that...

I had a hold of Baker Boy's good arm like a good flake would and
it was blowing so hard we could not even see the store..
it looked just like this 000000000000
50 mile winds.........and 12-18 inches of white overnight......

wonder how fast I could pack that Honey?????? Just like a good BEE buzzing around

throwing in shorts swimsuits and bikini.JK (Just kidding) ..NOT.....
But a snowflake can dream right?
So instead I am watching him snore on the couch and thinking how the heck are we gonna get out of our drive???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Honey In the Honey Bee

We woke up to 51 degrees this morning    It felt cold.....hmmmmmm where did the  below zero blood go? (Not sure that is a correct sentence. But the blood is thinning out ....) But I guess it is cold all over the USA.  It is cloudy and overcast today. I wanna go home  LJ says not possible.. Not going home in a blizzard.  I agree. Everyone is great and so friendly here.  We went to church  than on to Port LaVaca for meds. Talked with family and now going back for a much needed rest.  :)    snore snore snore.....

The Simple Women's Daybook- Feb 16th

Outside my window... IT IS -4 DEGREES, did ya read it right yip that is -4 and that is making me think Texas is even sounding better in da winter time.

I am thinking... Baby its cold outside........... well maybe I am singing

I am thankful for... There are so many things to be thankful for. Good news for a family member who needs some good news.........Thankful that our Son Mark and family may make it up for a visit in a few weeks. After many, many times it did not work out.Thankful that God is the blessed Controller of all things ........and He is Lord of my life..........thankful for Baker Boy our sons and family's.Thankful we are blessed with so many great friends.

From the kitchen.. The tea pot is sizzling on the wood cook stove...which I am very very very thankful for today............. ..but Baker boy may be baking his famous Sour Dough bread today..

..I am creating... a notebook on what to take next winter if we go to Texas and working on a prayer shawl which should have been done by now............

I am going...a bit crazy but whats new????

I am reading the Sunday paper looking for sales and coupons to cut out........

I am hoping.. to get some laundry done today. For sure Baker Boys flannel lined jeans (which by the way he may not need to take to Texas if we go.....)

Sunday , Sunny and the Sabbath

Sunday is such a special day.



a sunny one makes it even better....

....... a day from work, we (thats Baker Boy and me)

choose to make this day a day of rest.


Well for the most part....we are not perfect with it...


This afternoon we went for a ride to Munising......the sun was out here all day
it snowed all day in Munising.

At around 11:22 am we declared that this is going to be a year of fun....

.. we are very seriously thinking of going to Texas and FL for part of next winter.

Our one son laughed and another one said he would believe it when he sees it.......

We tried one time and made it to Indiana for a month and came back to da UP......... did not quite hit Texas or FL. That should be a great cure for cabin fever.

Well it will be fun planning it anyway.... (smile)

We are going to look at a camper van tomorrow. So we will see what happens.

Frugal Friday

A good way to keep Friday frugal is not to go to the store.
or maybe just

not open your purse ...................... or maybe

Not to go far from the house. Maybe not even out of the house..... mmmmmmmmmm

Or..... maybe not getting out of bed that would work to............tee heeeeee

I was reading an article about how much food we throw away...it is amazing


......here in the US it was a lot..


It was much, much more than a lot.....

It was even more than a real lot......

so Frugal Friday is clean out the frig day...........don't throw it out that perfect food.........


..spaghetti that you had three times already this week.........and it now is looking kinda like worms........ JK (just kidding)

Well giving it to the dogs would be a very frugal treat .


I have been looking at every carrot as a nickel?

Every banana as a quarter


 ( I really dislike Bananas and do not know why I buy them...... oh yeah I remember...... for Baker Boy............
Anna gave me green bags that are supposed to keep Bananas for almost ever.....
so I will just let them sit there on the counter in their new pretty Green bag and see if it works....... well maybe I lied maybe not for ever...... that is a long long time...........

I will let you know.

There are 16 bags and they will prob last till I am 92 and 1/2 cause you can use each one 20 times.
They are very cool looking.....thanks Anna........... Baker Boys bananas will not turn black now.

than go quickly and all the money you have saved on Frugal Friday, all that money you would have spent take it and put it in a big Fat Piggy bank.......


or Zucchini bucket.
Or bury it in the back yard if you want.


but be sure to consider and take a portion and go bless someone else.... ...cause

It is just a great thing to do............ it is even more fun if you don't let them know you did it......... .

A very poor story (but true) about a summer day in the U.P.

Chapter One:
One hot summer day in August
this pretty little lady was on a piece of milkweed.
Into the house in a jar she came..
with a very loose lid milkweed stuffed in it

Chapter Two
The great Escape:
the following morning she was gone.

...we gave up searching
several hours later I saw

a thingy hanging on the bottom of a table,
it looked kinda weird
like a big piece of lint....... (no glasses on yet)
No its not lint
there the little dickens was....
attached under the table.

How did she ever get that far?

she already had formed a very stiff looking J

A few weeks l ater she turned green
and formed a (chrysalis)...
One day

right after lunch ....it was about 1:03

LOOK ...I yelled

..she is not green anymore.

you could like see through it..
Baker Boy picked up the table and took it outside

Chapter Three:
The greater Escape

about two min after I shot the above picture ...

she had make the great escape

Her wings were wet

an hour or so she took her first ride.
She flew and fell flat on her face
She was like a pilot going up for her very first trial ride.
she could have never landed in the Hudson.

Chapter Four
The Greatest Escape:
But after a few shakey circles she went higher and higher
as quick as she came into our life she was gone......
She turned to me and said:
..Yip...going to Mexico


that is where we should be right now

To go and eat a Brownie.....(maybe) to be healthy I will put it on top of my oatmeal and then to town and I do not like Groc shopping except for the Chocolate part........ (bad me)

There are a lot of sales.......but now days it seems everything is on sale even if its really not.......mmmmmmm does that make any sense?????

My puppy Jet , bark and he is trying to wake up Baker Boy....... .

I am thinking of moving the TV...........It has been a day since I changed the house............and .cabin fever does that to you....makes you want to move things . ( That is when you are not sick on the couch with the flu)

Take some pictures, eat some brownies, .....go to Prayer Shawl Circle, put in my blog Pasty Pie..a very Yooper thing. But very tasty and very frugal meal and MEN love it......(with ketchup) I like sour cream

Pasty's are a very YOOPER thing or basically anyone else who like to eat.......they are very popular in da UP
